The existence of Moonquakes has puzzled scientists because the Moon does not have the tectonic plate activity that causes quakes on the Earth.

he launch of Britain's moon mission, known as the Moon Lightweight Interior and Telecommunications Experiment or MoonLITE, will be announced by science minister Lord Drayson next month. Scientists and engineers will begin work on the technical designs, calculations and costs with the aim of launching the satellite between 2012 and 2014.

Microsoft will show off its spherical Surface computer next week during Microsoft’s annual Research Faculty Summit in Redmond.

Microsoft had announced the development of Microsoft Surface more than a year ago.

Microsoft Surface computing would bring a multi-touch, natural user interface to a variety of form factors — everything from mobile to PC to TV. As computing platforms take the form of everything from ultralight PCs that are more like sheets of paper than traditional computing devices, to walls that are touch-enabled, users will become a “window” to the online world, with access to search, advertising and more - according to Steve Balmer.

The multi-touch Spherical display will be demonstrated for the conference attendees.

LG-KC910 RENIOR TOUCHSCREEN MOBILE


LG Electronics launched Renoir LG-KC910, the slim full touchscreen 8 megapixel multimedia phone. LG Renoir features Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Dolby Mobile, 8 mega pixel camera and a full touchscreen interface. Revoir will be available in India by November 2008.
Camera Features
The 8 megapixel camera features Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics, a Xenon flash, auto and manual focus, sensitivity up to ISO 1600, geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection and blink detection.
Touch Shot feature makes it easy to get the right shot every time by allowing photographers to focus on any object by touching it on screen. The shutter fires automatically when the user’s finger is removed from the screen. Touch Shot reduces camera shake and eliminates the need to search for the shutter release button.

Renoir LG-KC910 records video at 120 frame per second slow. It has built-in support for DivX and Xvid encoded video.
Renoir is a web 2.0 ready camera phone. You can edit and upload picture, audio, video or text, over 3G HSDPA networks or Wi-Fi. It is fully able to use web-based applications, including those that require GPS location.
The LG-KC910 Renoir connects to the latest 3G HSDPA networks and Wi-Fi. Simply connect to Wi-FI 802.11b/g and send your pictures to anyone or upload to your favorite picture sharing site. You can simply geo-tag your pictures using A-GPS capabilities.

Time for time travel?
Local group holds high hopes that Switzerland's Large Hadron Collider will prove time travel is possible.




The South East Queensland based Association for Scientific Research into Time Travel is watching with keen interest the commissioning of the world's largest particle accellerator, the Large Hadron Collider.


The Association quotes Russian scientists Irina Arevefa and Igor Volovich as suggesting that, under certain circumstances, a gap in the "texture" of reality might be created, and that a "jump into future" is within the realms of theoretical possibility


The LHC experiment involves scientists smashing atomic nucleus together with unrivalled momentum, in order to create conditions similar to those of the big bang. The CERN scientists hope to achieve new knowledge about the genesis of the universe.


In addition, the experiment should verify the existence of yet un-discovered elementary particles.


Physicists worldwide are looking forward to the launching of this -so far- largest experiment of the planet. The LHC "Large Hadron Collider" starts trial runs on 10th September when the first particles will race around in the giantic particle accelerator.


There are some scientists who would like to prohibit the launch of this experiment because they fear catastrophic consequences - the end of the world in the worst case.


According to ASRT spokesperson Bernd Siebler, such an outcome is unlikely. "We do not share this apocalyptic scenario and are looking forward into a controllable future, wishing the scientists of CERN great success," he said.


About the ASRT - Is time travel possible?


Probably everybody dreams of travelling to another time at some point in life. But for most people, this will probably remain a dream forever. After all, how can it be done?


The Association for Scientific Research into Time Travel was launched on 7th September 2007, among an exclusive circle of guests, scientists and the media.


Based on Einstein's theories of relativity, a test arrangement was set up during the experimental timeframe starting from the 07.09.07 and finishing on the 12.12.2012.


Scientific parameters


The goal of the enterprise is to procure a device or a procedure that enables time travel within our lifetime. The procedure will already correspond to a tested safety standard of the future at the time of application and be in the position to transport the user from the "start now time" into the past or future and back to the "start now time".


It cannot be ruled out that time travel may be enabled in both directions "past and future"; however, the objective will be achieved via the management of one timeline routing from future to the present.


The corresponding device/procedure will arrive in a precisely defined area in Queensland/Australia on 12th December 2012. Success of the "Millennium Experiment" is assured with sufficient scientific probability if:


a. One or a number of participants (temponauts) manages to forward the instructions compiled by the experiment's initiators without hitches to future appointees of his/their choice up to a point in time where the time-travel procedure is available and can be acquired or hired by means of the amassed capital.


b. The device/procedure thus procured is transferred to the year 2012 by the temponaut concerned himself or by a person appointed by him, in compliance with the time and space co-ordinates specified by the initiators.

SPACE TECHNOLOGY


Space technology is technology that is related to entering space, maintaining and using systems during spaceflight and returning people and things from space.

Space technology has a huge impact on the everyday lives of people; and something as simple as checking the weather or watching satellite television or receiving a parcel guided by satellite, it touches most people's lives on any given day.

The universe, exclusive of Earth, is such an alien environment environment that attempting to work in it requires new techniques and knowledge. New technologies originating with or accelerated by space-related endeavors are often subsequently exploited in other economic activities. This has been widely pointed to as beneficial by space advocates and enthusiasts favoring the investment of public funds in space activities and programs. Political opponents counter that it would be far cheaper to develop specific technologies directly if they are beneficial and scoff at this justification for public expenditures on space-related research.

Technologies such as weather station satellites and GPS systems, satellite television, and some long distance communications systems critically rely on space infrastructure and these technologies touch the vast majority of lives in the Western world and very many people elsewhere, every single day.

Computers and telemetry were once leading edge technologies that might have been considered "space technology" because of their criticality to boosters and spacecraft. They existed prior to the Space Race of the Cold War but their development was vastly accelerated to meet the needs of the two major superpowers' space programs. While still used today in spacecraft and missiles, the more prosaic applications such as remote monitoring (via telemetry) of patients, water plants, highway conditions, etc. and the widespread use of computers far surpasses their space applications in quantity and variety of application.
